Each archive contains plain text files. The ZIP opens in any archiver and passes integrity checks, because every entry carries a checksum.

Why this helps with testing

An archive is the most common way to send several files at once, and file handlers fail on it more often than on anything else. Some unpack the whole archive into memory, others never look at what is inside. A test archive of the exact weight you need shows these problems in advance.

The size is built up with a separate uncompressed entry. Compressed filler cannot hit an exact target weight, because the same bytes compress differently each time.

If you need an archive built from your own files, with a password and folders, use the archiver instead.
