JSON File Generator

Inside is a real object with a list of records: each record has a number, a name, an amount, a flag, and a date. Any JSON parser can read the file, and you can check this right in the browser or with your own code.

How the exact size is computed

Records are generated with a margin, the extra ones are removed, and the remainder is filled with a separate padding field. The size is counted in the SAME form the file is written in: with indentation. If you count the compact form but write with indentation, the file comes out one and a half times larger than requested, and that is exactly how this tool once failed.

A large JSON file is useful for testing a request body size limit: the server should respond with a clear error, not with silence or a 500 response.
