Random Name Generator
Random English names with a middle name, age and date of birth.
Any match with real people is coincidental: names, last names, and dates are picked fresh on every run. The data never leaves your browser.
The middle name here works like a full personal name, the same as the first name, and never matches it. In the "Last name and initials" format both shorten to letters: Ruiz S. A.
The "First name Last name" order is selected by default, the one familiar to English readers. The other three come in handy for documents and lists: "Last name First name Middle name", "First name Middle name Last name", and "Last name and initials".
Age is set with sliders, and the date of birth is picked to match it. One run generates up to fifty people; you take the result as a CSV file or by copying it.
First and middle names come from the 150 most common names for each sex among Americans born in that decade, based on Social Security Administration records from 1930 to 2008; the names given more often come up more often. Last names come from the 1,000 most common surnames in the 2010 US Census, weighted by frequency as well. That is why a seventy-year-old woman gets a name typical of her own generation rather than one popular today.
The date of birth is written the American way: month/day/year.
