Remove Line Breaks

Merges text into one flow: line breaks are replaced with a space, a comma or a character of your choice.

What to put in place of a line break

Paste your text and choose what replaces each line break. The default is a space, so words at the end of one line and the start of the next don't run together.

Modes

Keep paragraphs leaves blank lines as paragraph boundaries: lines within a paragraph are joined, the gap between paragraphs stays, and there is always exactly one. No space joins the lines tightly, which is useful for reassembling a line of code or a word broken in the middle. The remaining options replace each break with a comma, a semicolon, the <br> tag, or your own character.

What gets cleaned up along the way

Spaces and tabs at the start and end of each line are stripped, otherwise you would get a double space wherever a break was removed. Windows line breaks leave no invisible carriage return behind. The Unicode line separators U+2028 and U+2029, which often arrive in text copied from Word or PDF, are treated as line breaks too.
