Title Case follows English rules
Short service words like of, the and and stay lowercase except as the first or last word of the title. Letters after apostrophes and hyphens also get raised: «O'Brien», «Mother-in-Law». Russian does not use this format, so for a Russian heading choose Sentence case.
Abbreviations and brand names survive
«VAT included» keeps «VAT» after conversion to sentence case instead of becoming «Vat». The same goes for names with an inner capital: iPhone, PayPal, eBay, PostgreSQL and a couple dozen more.
A word counts as an abbreviation if it has up to four letters, like NASA or HTML, or belongs to a known list: UNESCO, UNICEF, NASDAQ, INTERPOL. A longer all-caps word outside the list means someone left Caps Lock on, so it gets brought back to normal. When more than half the letters in the text are capitals, the whole text counts as typed in caps.
After abbreviations with a period, a new sentence does not start: Mr., Mrs., Dr., St., vs., etc., Inc., Ltd., e.g., i.e., p., no., and months like Jan. and Feb. keep the rest of the sentence in lowercase.
Your own exceptions
Type your trademarks, article numbers and names into the "don't change these words" field, separated by commas. The spelling comes from the list: enter «MyBrand» and it stays exactly that way, whatever case it appears in within the text.
Formats for code
Variable names, CSS classes and page addresses are written in Latin letters, so these variants transliterate Cyrillic. The rules are the same as in the "for links" mode of the transliteration tool, so an address comes out identical in both tools. Letters with diacritics and the German «ß» also reduce to plain Latin: without this, «Straße» would go into camelCase unchanged and turn into STRASSE in SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE.
