The empty margin around the code is how a scanner finds its edge. Without it, neighboring text or background gets in the frame and the code stops scanning. The standard requires four modules, that is four code cells.

Damage allowance: the code still scans even if part of it is worn, covered by a sticker or smudged. The higher the level, the more space the allowance takes, so with the same data the code grows in modules and each module gets smaller. If a logo is loaded, we set H ourselves: the logo covers part of the code.

Scanning a code with "mainspy.net" in it is not the same as scanning one with "https://mainspy.net". Without the scheme, your phone treats the text as plain characters and shows it on the screen instead of opening the site, so the missing prefix is added for you.

If the site has a secure address, use it. Browsers flag pages that load without encryption as not secure, and some phones ask for confirmation before opening them.
