Compress PDF
Shrink a PDF: three compression levels, with text and fonts left untouched.
How much to compress
The tool reduces PDF file size by repacking the images inside it. Text, fonts, and layout stay untouched: pages keep their look, and text remains selectable and searchable. There are three compression levels, from barely noticeable to strong, for emailing the file.
What happens to your file
Each image is unpacked, resized if needed, and repacked. The tool makes the replacement only when the new image weighs less than the old one: a small icon often gets heavier after repacking, and those stay as they were. Page thumbnails and traces of earlier edits are discarded along the way: nobody sees them, but they take up space.
What the tool does not do
Password-protected files are left alone: such a PDF cannot be rebuilt, so remove the password in the program where it was set.
