What kind of strings you get

The characters are chosen by your browser's cryptographic generator, and every character in your set comes up with the same frequency.

Your custom character set can include Cyrillic letters, Greek letters, or emoji. An emoji with a skin tone counts as a single character and does not break apart. The "exclude similar characters" option removes O, 0, l, 1, and I, which are easy to confuse when typing by hand.

Unique strings and export

With the "no duplicate strings" option turned on, every string in the list is different. If the number of possible variations is smaller than the number of strings you asked for, the generator tells you that number: a set of one digit can only produce 10 strings.

JSON is ready to paste into code, and CSV opens in Excel without any re-encoding. A string made only of digits would otherwise be turned into a number by Excel, cutting off leading zeros, so in CSV such strings are written in a way that keeps them as text.
