Domain Age Checker

Shows the registration date of a domain and its exact age.

You can include https:// and www. For a subdomain, we show the age of the parent domain.

The registration date comes from the registry of the domain zone, and the query travels the same route as in the Whois lookup. The age is counted up to today without rounding up: a domain registered on September 23, 1997 remains 28 years old until September 23, 2026.

A subdomain has no age of its own, so for mail.google.com the tool shows the age of google.com. Some zone registries, such as .de and .eu, do not publish a registration date. If a domain was dropped and registered again, the registry shows the date of the new registration.

When it helps

Age helps you judge an unfamiliar site. Banks, government services and well-known stores have worked on their addresses for years, while a domain set up for a fake page may have been registered a week before the mailing went out. If an "official" site is less than a couple of months old, check who it claims to be: the website scam checker will show more signs.

A list of up to 100 domains is handy when you compare competitors' sites or pick a domain to buy on the secondary market. The table is sorted from the oldest domains to the youngest, and domains without a date, available domains, and those the registry did not answer for end up at the bottom. A subdomain and its parent domain take one row in the list.
