Website Scam Checker

We find the seller's business details, check the offer and look at how the store asks for payment.

A check before you buy: who the seller is, what proves the business exists, and how it asks for payment. The tool reads more than the home page — it finds the offer terms, the payment terms and the contact details, and works through them.

What gets checked

  • seller identifiers: the INN and OGRN are verified by their check digits — a made-up number fails the check;
  • the public offer and the return policy: whether they exist and whether the seller is named in them;
  • how the site asks for payment: a transfer to a card or to a phone number versus ordinary merchant acquiring;
  • the domain registration date against the years in business claimed on the site;
  • contact details: phone, email, physical address;
  • the domain name itself: imitations of a known store, letters swapped or added;
  • block lists and the databases of Google, Yandex, VirusTotal and VK.

How to read the result

A found red flag is an argument; a missing one most often means only "we did not find it": half of all stores show the payment method only in the cart, and we never fill a cart. The strongest argument against a store is a request to transfer money to a personal card: a bank cannot reverse a payment like that.

If you are checking a link from an email or a message rather than a store, that is a job for the neighboring tool, the URL virus scanner.
