Resize Image

Resizes an image by width, height or percentage and saves it as JPEG, PNG or WebP with your chosen quality. The whole rebuild happens in your browser.

Drop an image here or click to choose a file — PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF The image stays on your computer.

Type a width, a height, or a preset like "50%" or "800 px" and the picture rebuilds instantly, with no button to press. Next to it you see how much the file weighed before and how much it weighs now.

Aspect ratio

The "keep proportions" checkbox pulls the second dimension along: type a width and the height is calculated. Uncheck it when you need exact dimensions, and the picture will squeeze along one of the sides.

Which format to choose

  • JPEG for photos: at 80–90% quality the difference is invisible, while the size drops several times over;
  • PNG for screenshots, diagrams, and anything with transparency or sharp edges;
  • WebP is usually lighter than both at the same quality, and every current browser supports it.

JPEG cannot store transparency, so when you pick this format transparent areas fill with white. The tool warns you about this so the background does not come out black.

Metadata disappears

After a rebuild the file contains only pixels: EXIF, shooting coordinates, and the camera model are gone. That is usually for the better. If you only need to strip metadata without changing the size, there is a separate metadata remover.

The rotation from metadata is applied along the way: a sideways phone shot comes out the right way up.
