JSON to Excel
Converts JSON into an Excel (.xlsx) table, spreading nested objects across columns and lists of objects onto separate sheets.
Table
Notes
Paste JSON or open a file: an array of records, an API response with a data field, or line-delimited JSON. Each record becomes a row, and each field becomes a column. A nested object is spread across columns using dot notation: address.city, address.street.
What stays text
A string from JSON stays a string in the spreadsheet: the phone number 0079161234567 keeps its leading zeros, and "=1+1" never turns into a formula. Numbers longer than 15 digits are also written as text. Excel keeps only 15 significant digits in a number, so the last five digits of a 20-digit account number would become zeros.
Arrays inside records
A list of simple values goes into a single cell, comma-separated. A list of objects, for example a customer's orders, can be split onto a separate sheet. The first column of that sheet holds the row number of the parent record, so each order can be traced back to the main table.
